Rule 15 – Drawings

  • Drawings furnished by the applicants for a complete specification (except when not made upon the request of the Controller) shall carry the notations of the specifications to which they relate.
  • Drawings that explains the specification shall be made separate and no drawings shall be contained within the specification.
  • Margins and paper shall be the same as for the complete specification or provisional specification with at least 4 cm margin on top and left and at least 3 cm margin on bottom and right on a white A4 sized durable paper and at least one copy of the drawings shall be submitted that are neatly and clearly prepared.
  • No dimensions are required for the drawings and the scale shall be as required to make it sufficiently large.
  • Numbering on the drawings shall be made sequentially or systematically and shall bear-
    • the name of the applicant on the left hand top corner
    • the sheet number and number of sheets of drawings on the right hand top corner
    • the signature of the applicant or the patent agent on the right hand bottom corner
  • No descriptions shall appear in the drawings, except in the flow diagrams (flowcharts).
