Form 26 – Form for Authorization of a Patent Agent or any Person in a Matter or Proceeding Under the Act.

Form 26 has to be filed by the applicant of a Patent, when the proceedings of the invention in the Patent Office is handled by anyone else (most cases a patent agent) other than the applicant or inventors of the invention.

Form 26 gives the power to an attorney or a patent agent to act on behalf of the applicant in terms of all proceedings in the Indian Patent Office relating to the Patent.

This shall be made and executed within three months from the date of filing a patent application and only on a Stamp Paper (Rs. 100/- for now 10/01/2018 subject to change). If not filed, no action shall be taken on such applications filed by others on behalf of a person.

  • Patent Application number(s) for which the authorization is made:
  • Date of Authorization.
