National and International Patents?

There is no such thing called as an international patent in this earth.

Patents are region specific and their rights obtained are bound by the national or territorial boundaries. A person in India shall file a patent in India and then file for different countries by filing a PCT application within 12 months from the date of filing the complete specification in India. Through a PCT application a patent applicant shall then file for rights in different countries or unions as per the WIPO and the respective fee is applicable for each country / territory / union. No Indian citizen can file for a foreign application directly without filing an application for patent in India unless special permission is obtained from the central government.

International patents from an Indian:

As the entire world marches towards India to sell their products to India, it is based on the need of a person to obtain rights in other countries where upon commercialization the creator can make more money in India compared to other countries.
