Rule 19J – Processing of Demands for International Preliminary Examination

  • Upon receiving an demand for International Preliminary Examination, the examining authority shall assign an identification mark ‘IPEA/IN’ (International Preliminary Examination Authority/India) and notify the applicant and the International Bureau –If it is competent to perform the international preliminary examination.
  • If the Examining Authority is not competent to perform the international preliminary examination, the demand shall be transmitted promptly to the International Bureau.
